News from home

Lukas Spalvis, the 19-year-old AaB Aalborg striker, has been awarded the honor of being Superliga Player of the Month which is a great achievement for the youngster.  In other Aalborg news, winger Anders Due will leave the club after this season according to the club’s official Twitter feed. With only a few games to go, AaB Aalborg continues to battle for the Danish Superliga title along with FC Midtjylland and these are exciting times for both clubs as the season nears its conclusion with places in the 2014-15 UEFA Champions League nearly secured.

News from abroad

Ajax has awarded Lasse Schøne the Player of the Year award.  The former NEC Nijmegen player has shone in the midfield for Ajax this season and proudly follows in the footsteps of fellow countryman Michael Laudrup at the club.  In other news at Ajax, Christian Poulsen has decided to snub the contract extension he has been offered and will look to play his football elsewhere next season.

Liverpool’s Danish defender, Daniel Agger, continues to be linked with a close-season move to Spanish giants Barcelona.  With his current club looking likely to miss out on the Premier League title this season and with opportunities to play having been limited this season he may find the offer from the Catalans too good to ignore. Christian Eriksen of Tottenham Hotspur has now registered more Premier League assists than any other player in 2014 and will look to continue his impressive form into next season now he has had time to get used to the pace of the English game.

Kasper Schmeichel, son of legendary Danish goalkeeper Peter, has won the English Football League Championship with Leicester City and helped earn the club promotion to the Premier League.  Schmeichel has reportedly had offers from AC Milan, Arsenal, and Olympiakos for his services and has a major decision to make this summer.
